The Confrontation between Moses and Pharaoh in Ancient Egypt
The story takes place around 2000 BC, with Moses being 80 years old and Aaron 43. In the Pharaoh's palace, the Pharaoh, dressed in traditional Egyptian attire, called his wise men and sorcerers. The magicians of Egypt performed similar enchantments by throwing down their rods, which became serpents, but Aaron's rod swallowed their rods. Despite this, Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he refused to listen to them, as the Lord had foretold. The Lord then spoke to Moses, indicating that Pharaoh's heart was hardened and he refused to let the people go. Moses was instructed to go to Pharaoh in the morning when he went out to the water and to stand by the river's edge, holding the rod that had been turned into a serpent.
